When 4-colour process wins

4-colour process lays down cyan, magenta, yellow and black in fine dot patterns to reproduce any colour. It's the method used for magazine printing — ideal for photographs, gradients and complex illustrative artwork.

At volume (500+ units), it's the cost-winner for photo-realistic artwork over full-colour digital.

Where it works hardest

Drinkware wraps, packaging, hard-goods with large print areas, apparel hem tags. Surfaces that carry photographic or gradient brand artwork.

Production characteristics

Not ideal for Pantone-critical spot colour (CMYK can approach most PMS colours but rarely match exactly). For Pantone-critical work, combine with a fifth spot-colour plate.

Questions customers often ask

Does 4-colour process match Pantone exactly?
It approximates most PMS colours — for exact match, add a spot-colour plate.
Is it suitable for photographs?
Yes — 4-colour process is the magazine-print standard. Photographic fidelity is its strength.
Minimum order?
Most 4CP-printed lines start at 100 units for setup cost-efficiency.
