A small cello bag, weighted just so in the palm, filled with M&M's the colour of a bowerbird's collection — pale blue, dusty pink, soft yellow, the speckling so convincing you almost expect them to be cool to the touch. They look like something foraged rather than manufactured. The sticker on the front carries your logo in full colour, the only clue these aren't quail eggs at all.
They arrive on the table at the wedding reception, beside the place card. They sit in a wooden bowl at the restaurant counter, disappearing one handful at a time.
